How to consolidate multiple Xero organisations (2026 guide)
Last updated 21 July 2026
Xero has no native way to consolidate multiple organisations. This 2026 guide shows accounting firms how to combine several Xero organisations into one set of group financial statements.
Xero is built around a single organisation. Each entity you manage is its own Xero organisation, with its own subscription, chart of accounts and reports. That works beautifully until a client is a group — a holding company and its subsidiaries, or a family group of trusts and companies — and you need one consolidated set of accounts. Xero has no native feature to do this, which is why "the ability to consolidate multiple Xero organisations" is one of the most-voted requests on Xero's own product ideas forum.
This guide covers how to produce group financial statements from several Xero organisations without exporting everything into a spreadsheet.
The manual method (and why it hurts)
The traditional approach is to export a trial balance from each Xero organisation, paste them side by side in Excel, line up the accounts by hand, add elimination columns for intercompany balances, and total across. It works, but it has to be rebuilt every period, breaks whenever an account is added, and is painful to review. For a group of any size it becomes the slowest part of the reporting cycle.
The automated method with Report Craft
- Connect each Xero organisation through the official Xero connection. Report Craft imports each organisation's chart of accounts and up to five years of period data.
- Map to a group chart of accounts. Allocate every organisation's accounts to consistent group lines, so different account names across organisations still roll up correctly.
- Post eliminations. Add consolidation adjustment and elimination journals to remove intercompany loans, sales and investments.
- Generate the group statements. Produce a consolidated Profit & Loss, balance sheet and trial balance, bundled to a single PDF with comparatives.
Because the mapping is saved, the next reporting run is a matter of re-syncing and regenerating — the group structure is already in place.
Mixing Xero with QuickBooks
Not every entity in a group is always on Xero. Report Craft can consolidate Xero organisations together with QuickBooks Online companies in the same group, normalising the data so the consolidated statements look identical regardless of source.
