MYOB consolidated reporting (coming soon)

Report Craft consolidates multiple MYOB company files into one Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Trial Balance - with intercompany eliminations and a bundled PDF - from $1 per ledger.

MYOB keeps one company file at a time - a group needs all of them at once

MYOB Business and MYOB AccountRight are built around a single company file. That is the right shape for one entity, and the wrong shape for a client who runs four: a trading company, a holding company, a property entity and a family trust, each with its own file and its own chart of accounts. Come reporting time, the group statements are assembled by exporting four trial balances and stitching them together in a spreadsheet - every year, by hand, with the eliminations re-keyed each time. MYOB's own answer to this - export every file's accounts and journals into a "Master" company file built for the purpose - is still a copy, out of date the moment anyone posts another transaction.

Report Craft removes that work. Connect each MYOB company file through MYOB's official connection, map every file's accounts onto one group chart once, post the eliminations that take out intercompany loans and sales, and generate the whole bundle - front cover, compilation report, P&L, balance sheet, trial balance and notes - as one print-ready PDF.

Nothing is written back. Elimination entries live in Report Craft, so the company file your client works in every day is left exactly as MYOB has it.

MYOB consolidated reporting FAQ

Does MYOB consolidate multiple company files?
Not into group financial statements. MYOB's own guidance is to build a Master company file and import each file's accounts and journals into it, and MYOB says plainly there is no one-size-fits-all way to do it. The master file is a copy that goes stale, the account mapping is redone by hand on every import, and eliminations have to be re-keyed as journals each period. Report Craft does the same job as a live consolidation instead: connect each company file, map the accounts once, and produce one set of statements whenever you need them.
What about the Master company file method?
It is the documented workaround and it does produce a combined balance sheet and P&L. What it does not give you is a group that stays current - a master file is a snapshot of the imports you last ran - or anywhere for eliminations to live between periods, or a record of which account in which file became which group line. Those three are the difference between consolidating once and consolidating every period.
How many MYOB company files can I consolidate?
As many as the group has. There is no cap on the ledgers in a consolidation, and MYOB company files can sit in the same group as Xero organisations and QuickBooks Online companies - useful for a client whose entities are not all on the same package.
How does Report Craft connect to MYOB?
Through MYOB's official OAuth connection. You authorise each company file once, and Report Craft reads the chart of accounts and the period balances it needs. Your MYOB password is never shared with us, and nothing is ever written back to the file.
Can I eliminate intercompany transactions?
Yes. Post elimination entries to remove intercompany loans, sales and investments so the group statements show only what the group did with the outside world. They are held in Report Craft, so the MYOB company file is left exactly as it was.
Does the Australian financial year work out of the box?
Yes. Report Craft is built in Australia for Australian firms, so a July-June year is the default rather than something to configure, and the comparative period is last financial year without being asked.
What does MYOB consolidated reporting cost?
Billing is per client ledger on a graduated scale - from $8/month for a single ledger down to $1/ledger at volume. Every plan includes all report types, every accounting package, and a 14-day free trial.
